I have a website and so I exist: 10 reasons to create one

Index

1. have the business open 24/7

Having a website allows you to always be available for your customer: whether it is to sell you a product, service or just to clarify it. Can you imagine how much it would cost your store if it were open 24 hours a day? Only what it would spend on water, light, employees to work at night… because it would be unsustainable.

Creating a website is no longer a problem. Your company becomes available to the client 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without having to hire more people for the night shift.

A website represents this: a sales channel always open for your customers and potential customers.

2. Chegar a mais pessoas & Novos Mercados

The advantage of ‘switching’ to online is that your potential audience becomes every Internet user in the world. Of course it won’t reach all of them, but this gives you a sense of the limitation you are creating to your business by not joining online.

Of course then you need to do some marketing work to effectively reach more people. One of the most profitable and cheapest forms of online marketing is to bet on content marketing, which is the same as saying create a blog, on your own website.

The great advantage of this type of marketing is that it has reduced costs (the only costs are time and maybe hiring someone to write content) and a huge potential to reach many people. Imagine the following scenario: you have a sports store. The great advantage of having a blog in your online store is to produce content in an educational or informative format, showing your potential clients your company’s knowledge in this area. By getting them to enter the article, you are basically getting more customers to enter your website, which significantly increases the likelihood that more people will come to know your business and use your products or services.

Having a website also allows you to advertise your business at a lower price than in traditional marketing (in newspapers, billboards or posters on the street and flyers) and also be more specific about what you want to advertise and who you want to reach.

If I’ve never made a website, you can always use the services of Cowork Giraldo Works.

3. Know Your audience Better

Another very relevant advantage of having a website is that it allows you to know your client much better than if you only have an office or a physical store.

Notice that if you only have a business with a physical structure, you won’t be able to have one person pointing out all the behaviors and characteristics of your customers whenever you enter the store or office or whenever you talk to them. With a website this is no longer a problem, since they have their own tools, such as Google Analytics, that give you data about the behavior of your visitors and potential customers.

This lets you know:

  • Where your audience comes from
  • What products does it load to enter its site
  • How long on average does it stay on your site
  • How many clicks you have on your site
  • Which areas of the site have the most views
  • What are the most wanted products
  • Which channels bring more potential customers

Later you can use this data to make marketing campaigns directed, for example, to the public that entered your site and did not buy or use a service.

4. Give Credibility to Your Business & Strengthen Your Brand

“I have a website, therefore I exist” is Socrates’ adapted maxim that has never been truer today. It seems a bit extreme, but in fact, a real business that doesn’t have a site, is not looked at the same way by the consumer.

Obviously that to build a brand recognized by many people is a process generally time consuming, but many times having an online presence helps to shorten this way. In fact, a well organized and appealing site can pass the impression that a company is bigger then it really is.

For this to happen, you must ensure that your site is functional, responsive (with a quick upload) and useful to the user. In addition, you must constantly update it with content relevant to your audience.

5. Compete With Larger Companies/ Longer Online

Another advantage of having an online presence is that the Internet is very democratic. This means that the one that has prominence in Google searches is not the company that has been on the market the longest, nor the one that has more money. This is not important for Google. The most important thing for Google is the content.

This means that who stands out and appears on the first page of Google is who has better content, more relevant, optimized for SEO and with a good semantics, and not who has more employees or more money.

Of course there are always companies that pay to appear on the 1st page (and with these it can be more difficult to compete) but if we talk about organic research, then the internet is totally democratic.

6. Increase Your Company's Profits

Regardless of whether you work with products or services, if having a website strengthens your brand, increases your reach and gets to know your customer better, it means that in the long run, having a website can help you increase your sales. In addition, you now have two places to sell your business, the physical and the online.

7. Strengthens Customer Relationships

Having a website is a way to strengthen the relationship with your client and make it more regular. As we’ve seen above, having a website helps you track your customer’s behavior, and on the other hand, allows the customer to track your website more often through content marketing.

In addition, you can create a service channel (a chatbot) which allows your customer to clarify their doubts, giving them the feeling that you are communicating with an employee of your company, when in fact you are communicating with a computer program. For you it’s excellent, because in fact you can have a 24 hour customer service, without having to pay more for it.

8. Low Investment, With Huge Potential Return

Creating a website costs a lot less than advertising your business in newspapers and events.

Of course, you probably have to invest some money to have a domain, hosting and server, and in some other features, but none of this represents high costs for your company. And most importantly, when well used, the cost vs benefit of a website is excellent.

If you consider the potential geographical reach that your site can have (as we saw above, it’s all internet users) , the exposure time (much longer than in the physical store) and maintenance flexibility, you’ll see that having a site is without a doubt an investment that will pay off in the short term.

9. Gain Time & Save on Human Resources

Imagine that with every question on your business’ social networks, you have to waste time answering: you will probably lose many hours of productivity at the end of the day.

When you have a website, you can include FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) where people can see the most frequently asked questions about your business answered.

As we saw above, you can also have a chatbot, which allows you to save time and also human resources.

10. Present Your Services & Publicize Your Portfolio (For Freelancers

If you work as a freelancer having a website is very important to start creating your own individual brand.

This is a more professional way to introduce yourself to potential clients and is the easiest way to explain to them what you do. It also increases the likelihood of getting contacts from potential customers in the future, as they can reach you and get in touch with you without having met you personally.

In addition to promoting your services through the website, you can also demonstrate your portfolio to prove that you have the skills and practice necessary to apply the services you offer to your client.

Finally, it is also practical for you, because you can change your portfolio at any time: it is easier, cheaper and faster to change than printed material. In addition, it has much more flexibility in the preparation of your portfolio, since it has no limitation of space.
